Dance CompanyDirected by Erica Dankmeyer
Suspension is an exploration by Dance Company of pivotal and sometimes precarious moments in the human psyche. This hour of contemporary dance works by students and faculty takes the audience on a journey through diverse themes, ranging from the devastation of war to the joy of movement, but all reflect human transcendence and interdependence in the face of obstacles. The works are the culmination of a series of showings and feedback sessions and include several original scores by student composers, played live.
The final concert of the season features Dance Company, the first student ensemble performing dance at Williams College. Originally founded as Williams College Dance Society 37 years ago, today the company continues the
Modern Dance tradition of creating original choreography for performance each year.
