Ritmo Latino is Williams’ only Afro-Latin dance group, founded in 2006. For many years most of Ritmo’s performances have occurred at either Dodd or Goodrich, but due to the construction on campus, we have the opportunity to perform at the 62 CTD. This year, Ritmo Latino’s fall showed is titled, “Bailando with the Stars,” to pay homage to Ritmo’s debut at the 62 CTD—it is meant to bean unforgettable spectacle for all those in attendance. Aside from the usual staple pieces of bachata, merengue, and a rueda, which is a style of communal Cuban salsa, our audience can expect to see for the first time ever a zouk, a ballet folklorico, and an Afro-Cuban salsa! “Bailando with the Stars” is part of Ritmo’s series of events titled “Road to Noche de Melodia,” it’s yearly fundraiser for the Berkshire Immigrant Center.
